TALENT

“My name is Ellie Lou Ward, and I play sixteen instruments.”

The judges for the Little Miss Rhododendron pageant watched as seven-year-old Ellie Lou picked up a harmonica and blew the first two bars of Phil Phillips’s 1959 chart-topper, “Sea of Love.”

After that, she tapped a couple more bars on the xylophone. Then the keyboard, the concertina, bongo, tambourine, kalimba, autoharp, ukulele, violin, water glasses, triangle, kazoo, washboard, and flute.
