Cool book recs as usual. I just started James by Percival Everett & picked up Crumb: A Cartoonist's Life by Dan Nadel from the library. I’m enjoying the new Arcade Fire album also. Heard it yet?
Hope you feel better soon, Whitney! Apparently, the person who designed the interiors of that building where Dean took your picture also did the decor for my building stairwell complete with odd tile mosaic on the floor.
Ah, that makes more sense since many of the Lower East Side/East Village buildings are owned by the same companies who basically use the same designs/painting schemes. I was rewatching The Only Living Boy in New York recently and the building they shot in was on my block... same decor.

Those are the stairs between the Red Room and KGB Bar in Manhattan. That tile design reminds me of old Greek diner coffee mugs.
