As the gate lowered, the shop owner heard the quick click-click of youthful heels behind her.
“Hey! Can you reopen?”
“I’m sorry – we closed at six.”
“But I wanted that scarf! The red one in the window! Could you open up, just for a minute?”
“We open at ten tomorrow.”
The young woman’s shoes matched her bag, a Millennial Pink duet.
