My new minicomic & more đ
Aww, you're cute as a button.
I'm making merch! Changing lives! Changing socks!
For anyone in/near Brooklyn, come see me at Gowanus Open Studios on Oct. 16 & 17 in the (quite small) workspace I share with artists Dean Haspiel and Jason Goungor. Masks required, mascara optional.
I'll also be selling stuff, like ...
... my new minicomic!
Hot diggity, I made a 24-page minicomic! DIARY COMIX 2021 collects my favorite daily diary comics I've made this year. Here's a little unboxing video.
You can see all of my comics by supporting me on Patreon--and THANK YOU to all of the patrons who made this possible! Also, thanks to my pal Jill Sobule for this adorable photo. Jill does tons of rad stuff on her Patreon, so go throw her some support, too!
(I'll also be selling minicomics and children's books at Baltimore Comic Con Oct. 22-24. After that, I'll find a way to sell to anyone else who's interested. Are YOU interested, perhaps? Drop me a line.)
On random:
- I'LL BE YOUR MIRROR: A TRIBUTE TO THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO has so much good stuff: Michael Stipe doing "Sunday Morning," Sharon Van Etten's "Femme Fatale," Matt Berninger's "I'm Waiting for the Man," on and on.
- Eddie Vedder covered R.E.M.'s "Drive" on the FLAG DAY soundtrack, which is lovely and features several Cat Power songs.
- Not to get too Vedder-y, but his new song "Long Way" takes him right into Tom Petty territory, and who can complain about that?
- I'm still watching HANDMAID'S TALE, pass the pills.
- My kid and I are watching a lot of NAILED IT! after-shower/before-bed.
- I'm reading David Sedaris' A CARNIVAL OF SNACKERY, which encompasses his diaries from 2003-2020.
- Podcast-wise, I liked Tiffany Haddish on Conan, the HEAVYWEIGHT story about an introvert's popular prom date, THE BEST SHOW featuring callers' impressions of Steven Van Zandt and LAS CULTURISTAS talkin' 'bout SQUID GAME (which maybe I should watch next?).
OK, gotta go make some persuasive signage! Reach out and e-touch me at whitmath@gmail.com.Â
