Bunnies, Batman, Marilu Henner. 🐇
Come aboard, we're expecting you.
Happy Monday! Just wanted to share a couple things ...
First off, I did indeed watch the Warhol LOVE BOAT episode! Thanks to everyone who told me how to get MeTV without cable--in the end, I saw it via the nostalgic Paramount+ channel, which has also thrown me into a whirlwind of TAXI reruns. Maybe this screenshot of Marilu Henner will help you power through the day:
ALSO RECOMMENDED: After hearing about a new Ray Johnson exhibit, I was inspired to rewatch a 2002 documentary about the enigmatic collage artist, HOW TO DRAW A BUNNY. It features interviews with so many talented folks who are no longer with us: Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Billy Name, James Rosenquist, Gerald Ayres. Stream it via Vimeo. Make as much art as you can while you can.
I also read ALEX + ADA, a comics series that came out several years ago. Created by Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn, it tells the story of a man who receives an android woman as a gift and winds up learning more from her than he expected. Ooh! You can purchase the complete collection in three trades or as one hardcover.
ON THE STREETS: Writer Amy Stein-Milford and I had a mighty fun Saturday in Brooklyn! Read and see photos of our Park Slope adventures on Amy's charming blog, All Dressed, Nowhere to Go.
Does my Batman look like an umbrella? Maybe! Above is a tiny preview of what you'll see when I post several new diary comics this week at patreon.com/whitneymatheson. Special thanks to new patrona Connor and Vicki.
Have a wonderful week, and I'll see ya soon. Holler at whitmath@gmail.com or by belting out the French lyrics in Blondie's "Sunday Girl" into a megaphone.
Heigh-ho Silver, away--
