Taking comfort in Tiny Stonehenge
CAN YOU HELP ME WRITE THIS NEWSLETTER?
Man, I just don't know how to do it this week. I mean, if there were a time for '80s references and podcast recs and dreams scrawled in black eyeliner, THIS AIN'T IT. Right?
Or maybe I'm completely wrong! All I know is that a) if I have another conversation about toilet paper, I'm gonna have a conniption; and b) making these newsletters always makes me feel better.
So, in no particular order, below are 16 things that make me laugh out loud. Heaven knows I need 'em right now, and maybe you do, too:
1. Nicolas Cage's voice in Peggy Sue Got Married;
2. Tiny Stonehenge;
3. Drew Droege's Chloe Sevigny videos;
4. Alyssa Limperis' impersonations of her mom;
5. "Those aren't pillows";
6. That time Oprah wore a disguise on The Oprah Winfrey Show;
7. The scene in The Cruise where bus tour guide Tim "Speed" Levitch mentions "the masculine turn";
8. Sleeper's giant banana peel;
9. The first two minutes of of "Bitchin' Camaro" by the Dead Milkmen;
10. Brett Somers was on Match Game;
11. The entirety of Heavy Metal Parking Lot;
12. Home Land by Sam Lipsyte;
13. The very explicit, expressive Winnebago Man;
14. The Mighty Boosh's "crimping" scenes;
15. Stories like this one on TheHardTimes.net; and
16. Amazing Larry.
OK! That's it for this week--stay healthy and safe out there, and try to eat some pancakes once in awhile. Tell me what makes you laugh (or whatever you feel) at whitmath@gmail.com.
With wings for your protection,
Hanna Banana
